Nusa Penida sits 45 minutes by fast boat from Sanur, and it feels nothing like mainland Bali. The roads are rough, the cliffs are dramatic, and Kelingking Beach looks exactly like every photo you’ve seen, except better in person. Most visitors come for a day trip covering Kelingking, Broken Beach, and Angel Billabong. If you stay overnight, you get the sunrise at Kelingking almost completely to yourself. Always bring cash , the ATMs in the island are limited and most local warungs and spas don’t take card.
